"I paint with acrylics in a technique that combines the spontaneity of watercolors with the texture of impasto. I prefer to use strong colors in a limited palette and many glazes. My subjects are taken from nature and more or less abstracted, which gives them a "less is more", Zen like quality.

My work is n expression of my belief that everything is connected and that we share just one branch on the tree of life."

"I create jewelry with a variety of materials including pearls, lapis and fluorite beads handcrafted by women in Afghanistan, recycled magazine beads from Uganda, silver beads from India, brass filigree findings, Vintaj brass materials, and semi-precious stones. I also use a collage technique my mother taught me for fashioning pins, pendants and earrings, as well as collage on vases and candle holders."

"Still life and floral compositions interest me. Sometimes original verse evolves from the subject matter of my work. As in: "Pale green, winter-bleached hope for spring." from a painting of a begonia in February.

Commissions keep my exchequer from embarrassment. Portraits of people and/or pets are my usual subject."

"I view clay as improvisational art. My hands molding clay is the moment. Through the firing the moment becomes solidified to remember and behold or thrown to the ground to be shattered into shards.

I am interested in clay objects as art as well as artifacts and the temporal becoming the antiquated. I create artifacts for the future, some to be buried and hopefully uncovered by future generations.

Wherever I am going, clay is helping me get there."

"My intention is to keep the creative process fresh and challenging through experimentation and observation and to share the variety of ceramic form created by other potters. Most of my stoneware is fired in an electric kiln here in my studio, or occasionally wood fired in a shared kiln. My work is perhaps best known for its intricately carved surfaces and nature inspired decorations."
